Pond Construction

Wayne Ford and his dad, Wallace, have our

pond well under way. The pond will be between

1.5 & 2 acres...it's HUGE. This pond will be used for our

HOFNOD (Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs) program.

Students will be taught methods for stocking the pond,

upkeep and maintenance, and fishing skills through

Arkansas Game and Fish. We will also teach water

safety, boating, and canoeing.

The pond will be completely fenced in for

safety purposes.

This will become part of our

We encourage parents, grandparents, and

community members to volunteer and become

PRIDE trip to Hot Springs...

Our kids did an incredible job at the

Arkansas Pride Youth Conference.

Union has the only elementary/middle school

PRIDE team in the state. After our kids

sang, they received a standing ovation!

We promote drug-free, healthy lifestyles,

where our students are trained to be leaders

and mentors for others.

Union's PRIDE team recently performed for

Delta Kappa Gamma, Strong High School,

 and at the Municipal Auditorium.

To make our PRIDE team even

more exciting,

we have purchased Fender electric guitars,

a full-size Yamaha keyboard, and a

Pearl drumset in order to form a

PRIDE Stage Band for 2010/2011.
